Nomura unveils emerging market corporate bond fund

Nomura Asset Management (NAM) has launched a new emerging markets corporate bond fund, named the Nomura Funds Ireland – Emerging Market Corporate Bond Fund (ISIN: IE0007PJ9UL1).

The fund is managed by Nomura Corporate Research and Asset Management Inc. (NCRAM), Nomura’s specialist division for high-yield and emerging market bonds.

The investment strategy is twofold, focusing on bottom-up credit selection and top-down country allocation, taking advantage of NCRAM’s expertise in corporate credit and emerging markets research.

The Fund will be benchmarked against the J.P. Morgan CEMBI Broad Diversified Index.

Leading the management of the fund is Meno Stroemer, who became part of NCRAM in January 2023.

The fund places a strong emphasis on thorough analysis of emerging markets and companies, aiming to build a diversified portfolio of well-valued credits. It also integrates ESG analysis to align with Article 8 of the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).
