Willis Towers Watson buys climate analytics firm

Willis Towers Watson (WTW), the investment consultant, has acquired a climate change adviser and analytics provider that will help it model climate risks for investors.

The firm has bought Acclimatise for an undisclosed sum and says the acquisition will help with ‘climate adaptation’ projects that WTW carries out.

Acclimatise will support other areas of the WTW climate and ESG-facing business, too, including insurance consulting.

Acclimatise is based in the UK with teams in France, the US and India.

John Firth, chief executive and a co-founder of Acclimatise, said: “I am very proud of Acclimatise’s achievements and our staff over its sixteen-year history – from kitchen table to a market leader – and am confident that combining with the [WTW] Climate and Resilience Hub is the right move to ensure we can amplify the impact of our work.”
