UBS launches multi-manager ESG fund

UBS Global Wealth Management has launched a multi-manager sustainability equity fund with four underlying managers including Pictet and Allianz.

Called the Multi Managers Access II – Future of Earth fund, it invests in companies that fit with four themes – people, health, communities and sustainable energy. Companies should benefit from these themes, such as consumer preferences shifting towards more sustainable products.

Allianz Global Investors, Pictet Asset Management, Polar Capital, and Robeco are the underlying managers, each with a theme, and will be individually benchmarked against MSCI thematic indices.

The portfolio spans small, medium and large-cap companies in developed and emerging markets globally and is the fourth thematic fund from UBS’s wealth manager. The three earlier funds include a digital transformation theme and have a combined US$2.6 billion (€2.1 billion) in assets under management.

Bruno Marxer, head of global investment management at UBS Global Wealth Management, said the funds were positioned for structural growth, and claimed: “This fund allows us and our clients to harness the power of investing towards preserving our planet for the next generation and gaining exposure to the sectors set to lead the way.”
