Tabula hires from BlackRock for German push

ETF provider Tabula Investment Management has hired former BlackRock man David Schnautz to target clients in the German-speaking market.

At BlackRock, Schnautz was director and product strategist for the firm’s iShares ETF business, focusing on bond ETFs in Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

Prior to this, he researched interest rate strategies for Commerzbank, a role that took him to Frankfurt, London and New York, and in which he predominantly covered Eurozone and US bond inflation markets.

According to Tabula, Schnautz brings a “wealth” of expertise to the firm as it develops bond ETFs.

Schnautz said: “Levels of inflows into fixed income ETFs are at record highs, and success will increasingly be determined by the ability to offer unique strategies that really meet the true needs of investors.”
