Swiss UBP partners with Rothschild in private equity offering

Geneva-based Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) has expanded its private equity offering through a partnership with the French financial group Rothschild & Co.

Both family-owned companies are to jointly provide a strategy for private and institutional clients to diversify their portfolios in the private equity market.

Rothschild & Co manages private equity funds and private debt funds totalling over €11 billion in assets. This partnership will give UBP’s clients access to a portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses worldwide.

UBP’s chief executive Guy de Piccioto said the partnership would open up “innovative and varied investment opportunities” to its private and institutional investors.

Rothschild & Co has been building up a private equity business for over ten years, according to executive chairman Alexandre de Rothschild.
