SuMi Trust hires for Japanese equity push

SuMi Trust has appointed a London-based client services director whose job is to expand the Japanese firm’s European client base.

Shigeo Mito takes up the role, which also spans global business development.

Mito has been with the firm since 2000 and for nine years managed Japanese equity funds.

One of the largest asset managers in Asia, with asset under management of US$626 billion (€527.9 billion), SuMi Trust’s aim is to provide specialist investment advice and access to the Japanese stock market.

The firm recently launched a partnership with UK asset manger Fulcrum.
