Specialist fund administrators are growing rapidly, in-line with the appetite for private capital investments. This growth has seen them recruiting fund experts from the larger, traditional custodian-backed fund administrators along the way.
Nick Fitzpatrick, editor of Funds Europe, and Keith Hale, executive chairman of TrustQuay, discuss why in this video.
The issue is partly due to specialist fund administrators and their private-markets clients adapting to the tougher regulatory regime that has evolved around alternative investments over the past decade. The “boring bankers” (as one contributor in our article says) are safe hands when it comes to providing regulatory and risk-management expertise.
Another reason is their knowledge of high-volume data – something likely to see more demand as a growing number of institutions enter the private capital asset classes.
