Spanish value manager Azvalor appoints UK analyst

Azvalor – a boutique value manager based in Spain – has appointed Paul Gait to the new role of senior analyst in the UK.

Gait joins from Sanford Bernstein where he held a similar role in metals and mining since 2011.

Having begun his financial services career in 2000 as business analyst at McKinsey & Company, Gait was later recruited by the UK Treasury where he worked as tax policy advisor.

His appointment is a move to strengthen Azvalor’s research capabilities in the mining and commodities sector.

He will work alongside Michael Alsalem, and report to Álvaro Guzmán de Lázaro, and Fernando Bernad in Madrid.
