Senior analyst rejoins Somerset Capital

Emerging markets specialist Somerset Capital Management has rehired former employee Fergus Argyle to the new role of senior analyst and assistant manager of its frontier markets fund.

He will join the UK-based firm’s emerging and frontier markets investment team, working with lead manager of the Somerset Frontier Markets Fund, George Birch-Reynardson.

Argyle joins from Mobius Capital Partners, another specialist in emerging and frontier markets, where he was an investment manager.

However, before joining Mobius Argyle worked at Somerset for four years and he has also worked at BlackRock and Herald Investment Management.

Argyle said: “We see significant long-term growth in the smaller emerging countries we are invested in, where the technology revolution is driving rapid change in labour force opportunities, a lack of incumbent services allows for leapfrogging.”
