Robeco appoints UK head

Dutch asset manager Robeco has appointed Peter Walsh (pictured) as head of its UK business.

Walsh was the firm’s head of consultant relations since he joined Robeco in 2014. He retains that role until Robeco finds another consultant head.

Mark Barry previously headed the UK business, though the two roles are different due to evolution of the business.

Walsh will lead the overall sales and marketing efforts for the Robeco UK office and will also have responsibility for the operational management for the UK.

Prior to joining Robeco Walsh was director of distribution at Treasury Group and before that held positions at various companies including Putnam Investments, Zurich Financial Services and Rothschild Asset Management.

Walsh said: “The UK market is sophisticated and this makes our capabilities in the areas of sustainability integration, credit and quantitative investing highly relevant.”

Robeco has about £5.4 billion (€6.4 billion) in assets under management (AUM)  from UK clients. Robeco Group has €281 billion in AUM.
