Regnan unveils offshore vehicle for waste and water fund

Responsible investment business Regnan and J O Hambro Capital Management have launched an offshore vehicle for the Regnan Sustainable Water and Waste fund, managed by former Fidelity International portfolio managers Bertrand Lecourt and Saurabh Sharma.

The fund aims to generate capital growth over rolling five-year periods and to pursue a sustainable objective by investing in companies which provide solutions to global water and waste-related “challenges”.

UK-based Lecourt has been named senior fund manager on the Regnan Sustainable Water and Waste strategy, having previously been a portfolio manager at Fidelity International, where he launched and managed the Fidelity Funds Sustainable Water and Waste fund.

Sharma is a fund manager on the Regnan Sustainable Water and Waste strategy, having been an assistant portfolio manager on the Fidelity Sustainable Water and Waste strategy and an investment director in Fidelity’s equity team.

Lecourt, head of thematic investments strategies at Regnan, said: “I am proud and excited to launch the Regnan Sustainable Water and Waste strategy with Saurabh alongside the highly-experienced and dynamic Regnan sustainable team.

“Our focus is to deliver compelling returns, diversification benefits and the highest standard of service to our investors, as global allocations shift towards more thematic and sustainable solutions.”

Lecourt and Sharma are joined by portfolio specialist Freeman Le Page, who started at Regnan in January 2021 from Newton Investment Management.

Tjeerd Voskamp, head of sales and distribution, UK, Europe and Asia at Regnan, added: “This is an important milestone for Regnan and JOHCM as we look to expand our European presence with another important product launch. To be able to bring such an exceptional investment team to our clients is very exciting.

“It’s another launch to support our growing impact and sustainable range with Regnan and this shift is reflective of how we, as a company, are evolving to meet our clients’ needs.”

An annual management charge of 0.85% will apply to the fund’s A share class, subject to a minimum investment of £1,000, with GBP and EUR unhedged and hedged share classes also available.

Regnan is a standalone responsible investment business division within Pendal Group, which is an Australian-listed investment manager and owner of J O Hambro Capital Management.
