RBC Investor & Treasury Services, part of the Royal Bank of Canada, has launched a Luxembourg-domiciled Ucits strategy for Japan-based Daiwa Asset Management.
The Daiwa Global Funds strategy is comprised of a series of funds investing in Asian and Japanese equities asset classes, managed by Daiwa Asset Management from its offices in Tokyo and Singapore.
Andrew Gordon, managing director for Asia at RBC Investor & Treasury Services said: “Asian fund managers are increasingly seeking growth outside of their traditional domestic markets, and are attracted by countries like Luxembourg with its status as an international hub for globally distributed investment funds, notably Ucits.”
RBC I&TS will support the Japanese asset manager with the Ucits fund structure through its centre in Luxembourg.
Both Daiwa Asset Management and RBC (through its global asset management business) are signatories to the Principles for Responsible Investment – the UN supported framework to incorporate sustainability into the investment process.
RBC I&TS has 4.2 trillion Canadian dollars (€2.9 trillion) of assets under administration.
