Railpen appoints CIO and private markets chief

RPMI Railpen, the investment manager of the UK railways £28 billion (€32 billion) pension scheme, has appointed Richard Williams as chief investment officer and Paul Bishop as head of private markets.

Willams, who joined Railpen in 2014, previously worked as Railpen’s investment director.

In the newly-created role of chief investment officer, Williams will assume responsibility for Railpen’s asset management capabilities across the public, private and property markets.

Bishop joined Railpen in 2011 and, like Williams, also previously worked as an investment director.

In his newly-created role, Bishop will be responsible for the management and oversight of all private market investments.
