Pictet Asset Management has launched a thematic fund focused on shifts in society that have “changed our lives so profoundly”.
Called Pictet-Human, the global equities fund invests in consumer-focused services companies that improve the wellbeing of individuals and communities, the firm said.
Sub-themes include transient work, starting families later in life, living longer, online entertainment, exercise and dating.
Alice de Lamaze, lead manager, says services that support mental and physical wellbeing through “learning, caring and enjoying ourselves … should provide enduring opportunities for investors due to their recurring, predictable revenue models”.
‘Life-long learning’, including with the use of edtech, ‘care’ including pets, and ‘enjoy’, including travel, are the three main segments of the investment universe.
Marien-Baptiste Pouyat, investment manager, and Gillian Diesen, product specialist, also support the fund.
Pictet AM’s thematic fund range has $53 billion (€46.8 billion) of assets under management.
