Nikko AM appoints European COO

Davina Goodall-Smith, (pictured) who has spent several years in the asset servicing industry including in Singapore, has become chief operating officer (COO) of Nikko Asset Management Europe.

She joins Nikko AM from BNP Paribas Securities Services (BNPP SS) where she was most recently head of senior relationship management in the asset managers and asset owners UK division.

Goodall-Smith will oversee day-to-day operational activities at Nikko AM in Europe “ensuring that the firm has the global connectivity and processes required to achieve best practices”, the Asia-based asset manager said. She will also join the firm’s European board of directors subject to regulatory approval.

“Having worked in Singapore for nearly a decade and for a similar period of time within Europe, Davina brings the operational expertise and cultural understanding that fits Nikko AM’s Asian DNA so well,” said John Howland-Jackson, Nikko AM chief executive in Emea.

Nikko AM said in recent years its European business had expanded with the opening of an office in Frankfurt and the expansion of existing offices in Luxembourg, London and Edinburgh.
