Natixis hires Aberdeen man to lead solutions offering

Natixis Investment Managers has hired a former manager from Standard Life Aberdeen (SLA) to head a new ‘solutions’ business.

The firm has appointed James Hughes who was SLA’s global head of strategic client solutions to lead the newly created unit, which it is calling ‘Natixis dynamic solutions’.

The new business centralises the firm’s ability to customise investment solutions, which formerly sat fragmented in Natixis IM’s various affiliate asset managers.

The primary move is to combine Natixis IM’s portfolio research and consulting group with the investment and client solutions unit of one of its asset managers, Ostrum.

Hughes is also formerly multi-asset solutions managing director at Gottex Fund Management and group chief investment officer for HSBC Insurance based in London and Hong Kong.

Claire Martinetto, former project leader of the solutions initiative for Natixis IM, will serve as deputy head of the group.
