Mirabaud AM creates ESG role

Hamid_AmouraMirabaud Asset Management has hired Hamid Amoura (pictured) into the newly created role as head of environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing.

Amoura joins from BNP Paribas Cardif, an insurance firm belonging to the French banking group BNP Paribas, where he held various ESG roles over the past 12 years.

Mirabaud AM said the role came about as the firm continues to integrate ESG principles across its investment processes.

Since 2011, Hamid was an equity portfolio manager and central coordinator for ESG implementation across BNP Paris Cardif’s internal range of funds.

The new position means the Mirabaud Group’s existing socially responsible investment officer based in Geneva, David Jeannet, will join Amoura’s team and Amoura reports to Umberto Boccato, head of investments.

Boccato said the appointment reflected growing demand from clients, “who increasingly view ESG as an integral part of the investment solutions they require”.
