Mediolanum hires senior equity portfolio manager

Ireland-based Mediolanum International Funds has appointed Jonty Starbuck to the new role of senior equity portfolio manager.

Based in Dublin and reporting to head of equities Terry Ewing, Starbuck’s primary role will be managing the firm’s “Quality” equity strategies.

He will also work closely with Ewing and Mediolanum’s equity team to define the firm’s view on stocks, while providing input to the Investment Committee on strategic and tactical portfolio positioning.

Starbuck has worked in equity markets for 20 years, having started his career at Morgan Stanley covering technology companies, followed by 10 years at T Rowe Price.

He has spent the last five years at Davy Asset Management in Dublin where he was the lead Portfolio Manager of the Davy Global Brands fund.

His appointment follows a number of business and investment hires made by the firm in the last six months, and follows recent equity team hires including Terry Ewing, David Whitehead and Patrick McKenna.
