Mark Calnan steps up to WTW investment lead role

Consultancy firm Willis Towers Watson (WTW) – recently acquired by rival Aon – has appointed Mark Calnan as head of investments for Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

Ed Francis, previously in the role for seven years, has decided to take on client-facing duties and remains with the company as a senior investment advisor.

Calnan has been with WTW for 16 years, most recently as head of specialist solutions overseeing the development of specialist portfolio mandates. He will keep these responsibilities alongside his new job.

Calnan, who reports to global head of investments Chris Ford, said: “It’s clear from listening to our clients that now, more than ever, they are looking to us for guidance through the market volatility and to help them move their investment arrangements forward in the face of some challenging conditions.”
