Man Group adds to European real estate debt team

Man Group’s private markets business has added Bernd Kerner as investment director to its European private debt team.

In this new role, Kerner will focus on sourcing, executing, and managing European real estate loans as the firm increases its activity in key euro-denominated real estate markets.

Based in London, Kerner will report to Jon Rickert, head of European private debt. The pair have worked together previously.

He joins Man Global Private Markets after more than a decade with JP Morgan. Most recently he was executive director in the corporate investment bank risk and treasury and securities services risk management teams.

Prior to that he was vice-president on the real estate finance team, responsible for underwriting and supervising commercial and credit-related transaction processes.

Kerner has also worked at Eurohypo as vice-president and held similar roles at Deutsche Hypothekenbank and Dresdner Bank.
