Man GLG has appointed Patrick Kenney and Santiago Pardo as portfolio managers within its credit business.
Based in London, they will focus on global (non-US) stressed, distressed, and opportunistic credit, reporting directly to CIO of credit Simon Finch.
Kenney has worked in the credit markets for 19 years. From 2003 to 2012, he was head of international credit opportunities at D.E. Shaw & Co. Most recently he worked at Overland Advisors where he was responsible for global distressed and international credit.
Pardo has more than 13 years’ experience working in private and public credit. He was portfolio manager at Ashmore Group in London from 2006 to 2016, and joins Man GLG from The Abraaj Group where he assisted in the launch of a global emerging markets credit fund as portfolio manager in credit strategies.
He has also held investment banking roles at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and Salomon Brothers.
Their appointments are a step in the firm’s strategy to take advantage of opportunities in distressed, stressed and event-driven credit outside the US, according to Finch.
Man GLG has $33.7billion (€30 billion) in assets under management, of which $14bn is in fixed income and credit.
