LGPS pension scheme hires non-exec director

UK local authority pension scheme pool LGPS Central Limited has taken on Susan Martin as a non-executive director.

Martin has held multiple senior roles at the London Pension Authority, including more than two years as chief executive. She has also held director roles at Greenstone Consulting, Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Cancer Research UK.

She is the former chief executive of fellow local government pensions pool Local Pension Partnership, and is currently on the board of homes provider Town and Country Housing.

LGPS Central Limited currently manages the pooled assets of eight Midlands-based local government pension schemes amounting to £45 billion (€53 billion) of investment assets collectively.

According to chair of the pool Joanne Segars, the scheme is seeking to grow its assets under management, and launch new funds, as well as “deliver the investment returns our partner funds need to secure pension payments to their scheme members for the long-term”.
