LGIM appoints global COO

Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has appointed a former BlackRock woman as its global chief operating officer.

Brenda Sklar joins LGIM – a UK-based asset manager with equivalent to €1.4 trillion of assets under management – on May 11 and will be based in Chicago.

Sklar was most recently head of global client services and global COO of business operations at BlackRock and in the new role will report to Michelle Scrimgeour, chief executive of LGIM.

Scrimgeour said Sklar has extensive experience in leading teams across diverse client and business functions, and has demonstrated ability to “lead infrastructure development and services at scale, across global markets”.

Sklar said she will use her experience of “driving transformation” in the new role and work towards delivering operational excellence.
