Karim Leguel has gained a senior role at JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM), which he joined in 2014, as the firm expands its hedge funds solutions arm.
Leguel becomes head of the international investment specialist team in London following a promotion.
He was most recently a regional head, including Europe, of client strategy for hedge fund solutions and has previously worked as head of alternative investments at Rasini Fairway Capital, an alternative Ucits seeding platform.
The firm has also made two other appointments to its hedge fund business in the US and Asia.
Jamie Kramer, head of JP Morgan’s alternative solutions group, said: “In the face of the long-in-the-tooth economic expansion, the threats of a global trade war and the return of equity volatility, investors are significantly increasing their target allocations to hedge funds.”
The hedge fund solutions unit is part of JP Morgan Global Alternatives, which has more than USD$130 billion (€112 billion) in alternative assets under management.
