Kames Capital strengthens fixed income team

Kames Capital has appointed Laurent Frings to lead the Edinburgh-based investment manager’s credit research.

In the newly-created role Frings will be responsible for credit research supporting investment managers with their strategies.

With over 22 years of industry experience, Frings’ previous roles include global head of credit research at both Aberdeen Asset Management and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership. He has also worked as a credit analyst at Morley Fund Management.

At Aberdeen, Frings was responsible for developing the firm’s global credit research process, credit research for financial institutions and contributing to credit strategy discussions for the Emea region.

Kames’ chief investment officer Stephen Jones said: “Laurent’s appointment underlines our commitment to the fixed income market and highlights how we will move quickly and decisively to hire individuals, where appropriate, if we feel they can add value to our team and investment process.”
