JP Morgan hires sustainable investing head

JP Morgan Asset Management has poached a new global head of sustainable investing from BlackRock.

In her new role Jennifer Wu, a member of BlackRock’s sustainable investing team, will lead JPMAM’s sustainable investing leadership team and will be based in London.

Prior to joining BlackRock in 2014, Wu worked for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the energy sector of the Central and West Asia Department and was responsible for infrastructure project finance and energy sector reform.

She started her career in venture capital and private equity, focusing on equity investments in technology and renewable energy in Asia as a research analyst and subsequently a portfolio manager.

“JP Morgan has been integrating ESG factors across our investment teams globally and will continue to build capabilities to meet increasing client demand for sustainable investing,” said Shari Schiffman, JPMAM’s co-head of global product strategy.

“We believe that Jennifer will build on our strong results and establish JP Morgan as a global leader in sustainable investing through continued ESG integration and the development of new, innovative strategies.”
