Janus Henderson has taken on a four-man emerging market debt (EMD) team from Danske Bank.
Bent Elvin Lystbaek, Jacob Ellinge Nielsen, Thomas Haugaard, and Sorin Pirău are set to join the firm by September 1, 2022.
The team will be located in Copenhagen, Denmark, and report to Jim Cielinski, global head of fixed income. The team will contribute to Janus Henderson’s £61 billion global fixed income platform.
At Danske Bank, the team managed £6.9 billion in hard currency EMD pooled vehicles and segregated accounts for both institutional and retail clients.
Lystbaek had worked for Danske Bank since 2013. Over his spell with the company, he served as first vice president of EMD. Before this, he served at Danske Capital for 23 years.
Nielsen had been a portfolio manager of emerging capital debt since 2013. Before this, he operated as a senior portfolio manager of fixed income at Sparinvest.
Haugaard has experience as a senior emerging market economist and portfolio manager, having been at Danske Bank since 2013. He joined from Handelsbanken Capital Markets where he held the position of senior emerging markets economist.
Pirău worked as a senior portfolio manager at Danske Bank and has nine years of experience in emerging markets fixed income.
