Janus Henderson poaches senior manager from ASI

Asset manager Janus Henderson has poached Alex Barr from Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) to join its UK multi-asset and alternatives team.

Barr, who was global head of private markets and real estate investment oversight at ASI, will be based in London and report directly to Paul O’Connor, head of multi-asset investments.

Working alongside James de Bunse and Peter Webster, Barr will be co-manager of a number of Janus Henderson’s multi-asset alternatives funds.

Joining in July, he brings with him 26 years’ experience in financial markets, specialising in alternatives assets.

Michael Ho, global head of multi-assets and alternatives at Janus Henderson, said that continued growth of the firm’s multi-asset and alternatives business was a strategic priority.

He welcomed Barr’s appointment to the newly-created role as a “good step towards” this objective.
