Janus Henderson makes board appointment

UK fund manager Janus Henderson has bolstered its board of directors with the appointment of former Barclays Global Investors (BGI) chief financial officer Alison Davis as an independent non-executive director (INED).

Based in the US, Davis will serve on the firm’s audit committee, naming and corporate governance committee and risk committee.

Her background includes roles in both asset management and consulting as well as a number of directorships.

Davis is currently the co-founder and managing partner of Fifth Era Financial, which invests in early stage tech companies. Between 2000 and 2003 she served as CFO for BGI, now BlackRock. Prior to that, Davis spent 14 years in the consulting world with both McKinsey and AT Kearney where she led the global financial services practice.

Her appointment brings the number of Janus Henderson board members to ten, nine of which are INEDs.
