Ireland’s Mediolanum appoints a former Ryanair tech expert

Barry Noonan has joined Mediolanum, an asset manager based in Ireland, as chief information officer. Noonan joins Mediolanum International Funds from an Irish fintech firm, Taxback International, and will lead a team of 14 covering IT operations.

According to Mediolanum, Noonan has over 20 years of experience working in digital and eCommerce businesses, which includes as head of engineering for HostelWorld.com, an online travel agent specialising in budget accommodation.

He has also been infrastructure manager at airline Ryanair, and head of Unix engineering in betting shop Paddy Power.

Furio Pietribiasi, CEO of Mediolanum International Funds, said Noonan was widely recognised as a technology leader and his decision to join Mediolanum “proves our vision and technological success to date has positioned us to attract the top talent in this space”.

Parent company Mediolanum Banking Group has €43 billion of assets under management.
