ID Register gains chairman

Stuart Layzell has become chairman of The ID Register, a Guernsey-based ‘regtech’ business involved in making fund subscriptions more efficient and centralised.

Layzell was formerly CEO of fund and corporate services firm Ocorian and has a background in helping private equity firms in the tech sector.

ID Register, founded in 2016, describes itself as the ‘one and done’ platform for the onboarding of investors. It creates a ‘passport’ for each investor to use when subscribing to funds and deals with KYC obligations and FATCA compliance.

The firm has 25,000 investors signed up and Layzell said “interesting strategic alliances with leaders in the fund formation and administration space” were being formed.
