HSBC GAM hires private markets specialist

HSBC Global Asset Management (HSBC GAM) is planning to expand its institutional investor base across Europe and Asia with the hire of a former Aon Hewitt consultant, Jorge Huitron.

Huitron takes up a newly-created role as senior product specialist for private markets.

At Aon Hewitt he was a senior consultant advising pension funds on private equity investments.

Based in London, Huitron will report to global head of alternative products Steven Ward.

The appointment comes after the recent hire of Shantini Nair as senior product specialist for infrastructure debt.

HSBC GAM’s alternatives team manages and oversees around $39.2 billion of assets (at June 30) across hedge funds, infrastructure equity, private debt, direct real estate and infrastructure debt.
