HSBC Global Asset Management has appointed Stuart White as global head of strategy and UK and international chief executive.
He replaces Andy Clark as UK CEO, who left the firm to pursue other opportunities, the fund manager said.
White has been head of strategy at HSBC GAM since 2015, responsible for strategy, planning, and chief of staff activities.
In this newly-expanded role he will now take on the responsibility of delivering the firm’s strategic programme, future strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate management activities, whilst still reporting to global CEO Nicolas Moreau.
White will now oversee the firm’s entities in the UK, Bermuda, Malta, Turkey, and have oversight responsibilities for asset management activities in Saudi Arabia and for Hang Seng Investment Management Limited in Hong Kong.
With over two decades of industry experience, he first joined HSBC GAM in 2010. He previously held senior roles at Threadneedle Asset Management and Insight Investment.
