HANetf expands ETF presence in Spain

ETF diceHANetf has registered 19 of its exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in Spain following increased investor demand, bringing its total number of products registered in Spain to 35.

The UK exchange-traded product (ETP) provider’s new funds include several first-of-their-kind thematic fund strategies, such as Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure UCITS ETF, the Medical Cannabis and Wellness UCITS ETF, and ETC Group Global Metaverse UCITS ETF.

Hector McNeil, co-chief executive of HANetf, said: “Spanish investors increasingly want access to thematic ETFs, and HANetf is well placed to satisfy this demand.

“Spain is a vital and growing market that no pan-European ETF issuer can afford to ignore.”

The ETFs are in addition to the existing 16 exchange traded commodities (ETCs) that have already been ‘passported’ into Spain, including The Royal Mint Responsibly Sourced Physical Gold ETC (RMAU) and SparkChange Physical Carbon EUA ETC (CO2).

HANetf has more than 40 products listed on major European exchanges, including London Stock Exchange, Deutsch Börse XETRA, Borsa Italiana, and Euronext Paris.

During the first six months of 2022, there were net inflows of $68.2bn into European ETFs and ETPs, despite the first outflow for 26 months as $522m was redeemed in June, according to consultancy ETFGI.

Meanwhile, appetite for thematic ETFs and ETPs worldwide remains strong, gathering net inflows of $38.6bn, with total assets invested standing at $419bn.
