GSAM to soft close small cap equity portfolio

Goldman Sachs Asset Management has announced the soft closure of its GS Global Small Cap Core Equity Portfolio.

The $650 million (€568 million) portfolio combines fundamental insights with quantitative techniques to identify opportunities within the global small cap market.

Managed by GSAM’s quantitative investment strategies (QIS) team, the portfolio was closed to new investors from November 16 but will remain open to existing investors.

Nick Phillips, Head of GSAM’s international retail business, said: “GSAM’s QIS team has been applying innovative quantitative techniques to inform investment decisions for over 30 years.

“The soft-closure reflects strong client demand and is a testament to the team’s proven investment process.”

GSAM, the asset management arm of the Goldman Sachs Group, supervises approximately $1.3 trillion (€1.14 trillion) in assets.
