Funds industry has “not let anyone down” – Pat Lardner

Demonstrations of selflessness, compassion and resilience have “lifted our collective spirit” and “we are indebted to all those who do the extraordinary for others”, Pat Lardner, the CEO of Irish Funds says  in this month’s Association Column (Funds Europe, May 2020).

He adds: “People in our industry have wanted to make sure they did not let anyone down – and they have not. Relative to other acts, these are ‘ordinary’ things, but they have been done in extraordinary circumstances.”

Saying the funds industry is geographically dispersed and dependent on complex decision and service chains, it has demonstrated resilience and an ability to manage disruption.

As well as writing the May column, the chief executive of the Irish funds trade body also recently took part in a Funds Europe webinar that considered Covid-19 and the effects for the Irish funds business.
