Franklin Templeton man makes transatlantic move as business expands

Franklin Templeton’s Matthew Williams is to shift from Canada to Germany and take up a newly created role as regional head of institutional sales with the firm.

Williams will be based in Frankfurt and will become responsible for leading institutional sales strategy and managing client relationships in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

He will report directly to Vivek Kudva, who said the new appointment was part of an expansion in Franklin Templeton’s institutional business in the region.

Williams joined the California-headquartered firm back in 2013, serving as head of defined contribution and was later appointed to head of institutional and client service for Canada where he is currently based.

He will relocate to Germany in September.
