‘China innovation’ is one theme among five funds to be rolled out early next year by Fidelity International.
The firm said it would add three sustainable and two thematic funds to its Luxemburg-domiciled fund range and said trends in regulation was one of the drivers.
The China Innovation fund will invest in Chinese stocks “linked to the theme of innovation, such as technology innovation, lifestyle innovation and environmental innovation”.
A second thematic fund focuses on long-term and non-cyclical changes in economic and social factors, such as disruptive technologies, demographics and climate change, the fund manager said.
Three sustainable funds are being added to the Fidelity Sustainable Family, although the firm said each new fund will focus on companies with “high standards of sustainability”.
Jenn-Hui Tan, Fidelity’s global head of stewardship and sustainable investing, said: “Our Sustainable Family has grown from five to eleven funds in just over a year, and I fully expect this trend to continue in line with rising regulatory focus and increasing client demand.”
