Global fund house Fidelity International has appointed Christian Staub as managing director of its continental European business.
In the Luxembourg-based role, Staub will be a member of Fidelity’s global operating committee.
Staub has over 20 years’ experience in the industry and joins after four years at BlackRock where he held a number of senior European distribution roles including head of institutional client business for continental Europe and country head for Switzerland.
Prior to joining BlackRock he held several senior positions at Allianz Asset Management and Pimco, following an initial period as an investment analyst at UBS.
After he starts the new job in August, Staub will report to interim president Simon Haslam.
He will succeed Jon Skillman who is moving to a new role managing Fidelity’s global workplace investing.
Haslam said: “Christian has experience of running sizeable distribution businesses and a deep understanding of the needs of European institutional and wholesale clients.
“Combined with his prior roles within investment management, this provides the best possible combination of the skills required to manage our Continental European business, which spans 19 countries and accounts for over $120 billion (€97 billion) of client assets.”
