Euroclear has appointed Michal Paprocki as chief information officer.
Paprocki is based in Brussels and, as part of the role, will join the Euroclear Group Management Committee, reporting to Lieve Mostrey, chief executive officer of the Euroclear group.
Paprocki has already been acting as Euroclear’s interim Co CIO alongside Marc De Rycke.
Prior to joining Euroclear in 2018, Paprocki was CEO of ING Tech Poland where he was responsible for the IT technology hub, managing full global IT delivery.
Paprocki will continue to work on Euroclear’s IT transformation which includes continuing to embrace new technologies to introduce greater agility into its working practices, reinforcing its platform, and integrating its business lines and IT more effectively across the organisation.
The Euroclear group is a provider of post trade services. It provides settlement and custody of domestic and cross-border securities for bonds, equities, and derivatives to investment funds.
Currently the group comprises of Euroclear Bank, the International CSD, as well as Euroclear Belgium, Euroclear Finland, Euroclear France, Euroclear Nederland, Euroclear Sweden and Euroclear UK & International.
In 2020, the Euroclear group settled the equivalent of EUR 897 trillion in securities transactions in 2020, representing 276 million domestic and cross-border transactions, and held EUR 35.2 trillion in assets for clients by end June 2021.
