Emerging market managers capture investor attention

Investors and consultants showed higher interest in global emerging market strategies at the end of 2017, according to details of a database search.

Six products concentrating on global emerging markets made it into the top 20 searches of an eVestment database containing information about asset manager products, the firm said. The figure was up from two global emerging market searches in November.

Changes in search patterns for asset management products and geographic exposures can reflect changing investor demand and political and economic shifts, eVestment said, though changes can also reflect positive or negative company news, or simply marketing initiatives.

The rise of emerging market views in December pushed searches for strategies focused on Europe, Australasia and the Far East from the November top spot.

The data is contained in eVestment’s ‘December 2017 eVestment Advantage Viewership Report’.
