Deutsche AM hires global head of private equity secondaries

Deutsche Asset Management has appointed Mark McDonald to the newly-created role of global head of private equity secondaries.

Based in London, McDonald joins from Credit Suisse where he was global head of secondary advisory and a senior member of the screening committee for the firm’s private fund group.

His focus will be to grow the Deutsche’s private equity business by identifying alpha-generating, bespoke solutions to complement client portfolios.

Pierre Cherki, head of alternatives and co-head of the investment group at Deutsche AM, said the appointment underscored the firm’s commitment to the private equity space in its alternatives platform.

Deutsche AM has €77 billion in alternative investments.
