Cloud computing to play key role in firms’ IT plans

Cloud-based solutions are likely to be at the centre of asset managers’ increased IT investment over the next 12 months, according to recent research carried out by Funds Europe.

Our research showed that technology and data infrastructure will be the main focus of asset managers’ spending this year, as identified by 53% of respondents.

Almost two thirds (62%) of respondents said that cloud-based solutions will play a key role in their IT strategy.

Asset managers also highlighted the importance of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions and use of API (application programming interface) technology which were cited by 48% and 46% of respondents respectively.

The figures are in our report, ‘The future of investment Operations’, produced in association with Temenos.
