Citi develops fintech securities lending service

Custody bank Citi has partnered with fintech firm Sharegain to offer an automated securities lending tool to wealth managers.

Citi said the service enabled wealth managers to provide securities lending to their own clients without needing to develop their own technology.

It is designed to integrate with wealth managers existing infrastructure and provide a fully digital means for managing clients’ lending programmes.

“Securities lending is a well-established practice among institutional investors, but one that most private investors have been unable to benefit from,” said Stuart Jarvis, Europe. Middle East and Africa head of agency securities lending at Citi.

“That’s why our clients are demanding a tailored, automated securities lending service they can offer to their end customers,” added Jarvis.
