Capital Group is to push deeper into the UK financial advice market with a fund range structured as open-ended investment companies, or ‘Oeics’.
The £1.7 trillion (€1.9 trillion) asset manager, which already distributes 31 Luxembourg-based Ucits funds in the UK, said Oeics would “better support the [UK] intermediary market”.
Capital Group is also launching a brand campaign in the UK to increase fund selectors’ awareness of the firm.
The fund range will consist of active, long-only equity and fixed income fund strategies.
Chris Miles, head of UK financial intermediaries at the firm, said the launch signalled a commitment to growing its services in the UK market and strengthening relationships with financial intermediaries.
The marketing strategy “turns the ‘Can I?’ strapline into ‘I Can’,” said the firm, and it will be sustained throughout 2021.
Allyson Foster, head of UK marketing, said: “As an adviser-led business we want to send a strong message to the UK market about the value of partnerships in the realisation of people’s financial goals. Our debut UK brand campaign will seek to bring to life the core elements of Capital Group’s unique approach to investing and inspire people to take control of their financial futures.”
Capital Group’s UK presence dates back 40 years and the firm has currently around 450 associates in the country, including 70 investment professionals.
