Candriam hires thematic managers

Candriam has hired three people to its thematic global equity team – the latest hires in a hiring spree this year.

Two portfolio equity managers and a medtech analyst have been hired to the thematic team, which manages €9.5 billion.

The firm said it had hired more than 66 employees this year, 15 of them in investment management positions.

Marie Lannoy (pictured) and Jonas Desomer both join as equity fund managers from KBC Asset Management, and Pierre Vaurice joins from Midcap Partners as medtech analyst.

Lannoy works on the consumer theme and Desomer co-manages the firm’s demography strategy.

Each are based in Brussels and report to Rudi Van den Eynde, head of thematic global equity.

Van den Eynde said: ”With the growing appetite for thematic investments across the industry, now is an exciting time to be adding such talented investment professionals to the team and their experience in equities and fundamental analysis will further enhance our investment offering for clients.”
