Border to Coast expands investment and research teams

Border to Coast Pensions Partnership, one of the largest public sector pension pools in the UK, has made a series of hires to its investment and research teams.

Joining the investment team are portfolio managers Daniel Loughney for fixed income, James Thelwell for alternatives, and Luc Pascal who will be assistant portfolio manager. 

Loughney has over 25 years’ industry experience, and joins from AllianceBernstein where he was regional senior vice president head of rates and currency, while Thelwell joins from Greater Manchester Pension fund where he spent five years focused on infrastructure. 

On the research side, the pension pool has hired as research managers Hernan Enriquez, joining from asset manager IFDC where he was senior research analyst for 13 years covering Japan and emerging markets, as well as Guy Norman, joining from Aberdeen Standard Investments where he was equity analyst for four years, also focused on emerging markets. 

Border to Coast chief executive said: “While these are uncertain times, we remain focussed on delivering a positive difference for our partner funds.”
