Border to Coast CEO joins IA board

Rachel Elwell, chief executive of the Border to Coast pension fund pool, has joined The Investment Association (IA) board of directors, along with Nicolas Moreau, CEO of HSBC Global Asset Management.

The appointments follow the departures of outgoing IA board chair Peter Harrison, CEO of Schroders, and Joanna Munro, global chief investment officer of HSBC Global Asset Management. Munro joins the IA’s investment committee.

Elwell said: “The IA’s initiatives, including corporate governance, culture, transparency and sustainability, are key to realising the investment industry’s opportunity to make a real difference, touching as we do pensions, savings and insurance for millions of people across the UK and internationally.”

Moreau said that investment management has an important role to play in “financing of the post-Covid world”.

Chris Cummings, CEO of the Investment Association, said he looked forward to Elwell’s and Moreau’s “support and challenge”.
