BNPP SS completes proof of concept for digital asset transfers

BNP Paribas Securities Services (BNPP SS) has partnered with cloud-based digital asset security infrastructure Curv to complete a proof of concept to transfer digital security tokens.

To carry out the transaction, BNPP SS transferred a security token using Curv’s digital platform to confirm the security of the private keys.

According to the firm, this proof of concept has helped to demonstrate that tokenised securities can be transferred in a secure and transparent way using blockchain technology.

Curv’s digital infrastructure enables transactions to be signed securely in a “mathematically-proven and distributed way”.

According to BNPP SS’s global head of financial intermediaries and corporate client line, Bruno Campenon, the firm is now in a position to deliver digital asset servicing once regulations on digital assets are agreed upon.

The proof of concept represents a “significant step forward” in the digital assets space, Campenon added.
