BNP Paribas AM consolidates sustainability tasks in one person

Jane Ambachtsheer, previously a partner at investment consultants Mercer, is to join BNP Paribas Asset Management in a newly created sustainability role.

Ambachtsheer was Mercer’s chair of responsible investing but will join BNP Paribas AM as global head of sustainability.

The functions she will oversee were originally distributed across a number of other people and include responsibility for environmental, social and governance integration.

Ambachsteer takes up the role in Paris on August 27 and reports to Frédéric Janbon, chief executive officer and head of investments.

Janbon said Ambachteer was recognised globally as a “leading influencer” in responsible investment. Previously a consultant to the United Nations through the development of the Principles for Responsible Investment, Ambachtsheer is involved in industry initiatives that include being a trustee of the Carbon Disclosure Project.
